GCP Cloud Composer/BigQuery Lead Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the technical lead for the GCP Cloud Composer and BigQuery data engineering efforts
• Design and implement data pipelines and workflows using Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow) and BigQuery
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Mentor and lead a small team of data engineers, providing guidance and oversight on project deliverables
• Proactively identify and address performance, reliability, and scalability issues in the data infrastructure
• Document processes, create training materials, and provide knowledge transfer to the broader team

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong background in GCP technologies
• 3-5 years working with Marketing data – especially marketing email campaign platforms (ie: email interaction data, customer data, web traffic data, customer identity data, interaction data, email databases, etc.)
• Strong familiarity with marketing platforms and tech stacks (ie: Oracle Responsys, SalesForce, Eloqua, Adobe Target, GA 4, Google marketing tools, etc.)
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and data modeling concepts
• Extensive experience with Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow) and BigQuery
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor junior engineers
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with marketing data and platforms (e.g., Oracle Responsys)
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements
