Fundraiser

We are a grassroots non-profit organization based in Nairobi, Kenya, working to uplift vulnerable children living in urban slums. Our mission is to ensure access to education, nutrition, and safe environments for kids who are often forgotten by mainstream systems.

To scale our impact, we’re seeking a dedicated freelance fundraising professional to take full ownership of our fundraising strategy and execution.

🧩 Your Role

As our lead fundraiser, you will:

• Research and identify suitable funding opportunities (grants, individual donors, CSR, foundations, crowdfunding, etc.)
• Write compelling grant proposals and donor letters
• Manage and optimize online fundraising campaigns (GoFundMe, Donorbox, etc.)
• Build donor databases and nurture donor relationships
• Develop communication materials and storytelling assets to appeal to funders
• Provide monthly reports on fundraising performance
• Support proposal submission to global organizations (UNICEF, USAID, etc.)

✅ Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is:

• Passionate about children’s rights, education, and poverty alleviation
• Experienced in fundraising for NGOs or similar causes (3+ years preferred)
• Skilled in writing, storytelling, and donor engagement
• Familiar with grant databases (e.g., FundsforNGOs, GrantStation)
• Comfortable working independently and meeting monthly fundraising targets
• Familiar with fundraising compliance and reporting

📈 Performance Goals

• Raise $1000 monthly in recurring or one-time donations (set mutually)
• Identify and apply to at least 10 grants per month
• Grow our donor list and engagement by 35% quarterly

💵 Compensation

• Competitive monthly retainer based on experience and results
• Performance bonuses for exceeding fundraising goals
