We are building the world's first AI-powered smart toothbrush. Our 20-second Smartbrush uses computer vision to deliver oral health insights and unlock the connection between oral and systemic health. We're a small team doing something that's never been done—hardware, AI, and consumer health, all at once.
The Role
We're hiring our first dedicated iOS engineer. You'll own the app end-to-end.
This isn't a "build features from Figma specs" role. You'll work directly with our Head of Design, but you'll also ship things that aren't fully spec'd. You'll collaborate with our AI team on the camera and scanning experience. You'll write Python backend routes when that's the fastest path to shipping. You'll clean up the mess and make the app feel like a premium product.
If you need clearly defined lanes and a large team to function, this isn't the role. If you want to own something meaningful and build it right, keep reading.
What You'll Do
- Own the iOS app—architecture, features, polish, performance
- Build and refine our ARKit-powered oral scanning experience
- Execute on UI details, animations, and micro-interactions
- Write backend routes (Python/AWS) when needed
- Collaborate with design without requiring pixel-perfect specs for everything
- Improve and refactor a codebase that needs love
What You Bring
Must Have:
- 4+ years of iOS development (Swift, UIKit/SwiftUI)
- Real ARKit experience and understanding of iPhone camera/image systems
- Ability to ship polished UI without complete specs—you have an eye for what looks right
- Comfort working in Python and AWS (you don't need to be an expert, but you're not scared)
- PST timezone availability
Ideal:
- Startup experience—you know how to move fast without burning down
- You've inherited messy codebases and made them better
- You've owned an app, not just contributed to one
- You care about the details that most engineers ignore
What You'll Get
- Competitive; determined on a case-by-case basis depending on experience, scope, and overall fit. Base salary and equity considered.
- A chance to own something from the ground up
- A team that ships real products (not decks)
- Hybrid in Culver City, or remote if you're on PST
