Fullstack developer (Next, Node) - Part-time - Worldwide

About the Project

We're hiring a skilled full-stack developer to take over and enhance an existing Next.js-based website for a U.S.-based plumbing company. The current codebase is partially complete and needs immediate improvements, including new feature implementation, SEO optimization, and future-ready infrastructure for scaling into mobile app development.

This is a hands-on role ideal for a developer who can step into an ongoing build, clean up incomplete or unclear work, and contribute to long-term product strategy and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit, fix, and optimize the current Next.js website
• Complete unfinished features:

1. Boiler sizing calculator
2. AI-enhanced chatbot
3. Blog CMS functionality

• Improve SEO structure and Google indexing
• Take ownership of backend hosting, deployment, and GitHub codebase
• Set a foundation for future mobile app builds (field tech, customer, and apprentice apps)
• Collaborate on long-term plans for AI integration and scalable architecture

Technical Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a full-stack developer
• Deep experience with Next.js, React, and Node.js
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or equivalent hosting tools
• Experience with API integration and basic AI/ML services (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of SEO best practices

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with AI-enhanced features like layout suggestions, chatbots, or troubleshooting tools
• Background in building or maintaining calculators, CMS tools, or form-driven tools
