Role Overview
Join our innovative team in developing a groundbreaking "Carfax for Homes" platform. This smart homeowner data solution aggregates permit records, inspection timelines, and maintenance triggers to empower homeowners, inspectors, and contractors in making informed decisions throughout the homeownership lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy ZIP-code-specific data bots to extract public record information from permit portals and inspection databases.
- Design and implement a robust backend system using Python, preferably with FastAPI or Flask, to manage permit and inspection data efficiently.
- Integrate with APIs such as Zillow, Google Maps, and HubSpot to enhance platform functionality.
- Create user-friendly dashboards that display timelines, status changes, and inspection-based triggers for end users.
- Collaborate closely with a non-technical founder and sales-focused team to align software development with real-world business needs.
- Rapidly iterate and deploy prototype features to refine the MVP.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Python, with a strong preference for FastAPI or Flask frameworks.
- Expertise in web scraping and data automation using tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, or Scrapy.
- Experience with RESTful API integration, particularly with Zillow, Google, and CRM platforms like HubSpot.
- Strong database design skills, preferably with PostgreSQL or similar systems.
- Ability to thrive in a startup environment, taking projects from zero to one.
- Excellent written communication and asynchronous coordination skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with map frameworks such as Mapbox or Leaflet.
- Familiarity with permit systems or municipal data formats.
- Previous experience in building MVPs or prototypes for startups.
- Exposure to real estate, home services, or property tech industries.
