About Us

MVO Cost Segregation is a specialty tax advisory firm that helps real estate investors across the US save money through cost segregation studies. The business was founded in 2023, is bootstrapped, and is growing quickly. The business operates 2 key brands:

1. MVO Cost Seg for full service reports. MVO Cost Seg is a professional service where our team creates reports for users. MVO Cost Seg needs technology help with automations to improve our teams efficiency.
2. Cost Seg EZ is our do-it-yourself (“DIY”) tool that allows users to create their own reports. Cost Seg EZ functions like an e-commerce business in that users go to your site, create reports, and checkout in a self-service way.

What We Are Looking For

• We are looking for an experienced full-stack engineer who can lead our software development efforts under the direction of one of our partners, Daniel.
• You should have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a software engineer, working with ASP.Net 8 Core, React + TypeScript, and AWS.
• Daniel vibe codes a lot the front end, so while this role will be truly full stack your experience with backend is more important.
• We will work together to quickly ship improvements. This role is for someone who can think strategically, but also likes to move quickly and work collaboratively. - This is a high stakes service related to people’s tax filings, so accuracy and attention to detail is critical.
• Given we are a remote first company, the ability to work independently and communicate in English is critical.
• We are looking for 4-6 hours of overlap with EST working hours time zone.

Skills / Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience
• Required: .NET Core, Razor, JQuery, AWS
• Nice to have: Gatsby, React, TypeScript, Javascript

Our Tech Stack

• For our primary front end, we use Gatsby with TypeScript and React. Some styling is handled by Tailwind CSS. This is what where we do a lot of vibe coding.
• We have some front end in .NET Core MVC with Razor and jQuery.
• Our backend is .NET 8 Core.
• We also use Stripe for payments, AWS S3 for storage, and AWS for some other services and pipelines.
• We use Google App Scripts (written in Javascript) to automate some internal workflows between on Google Sheets, Google Docs and Zapier. This is for the MVO Cost Seg full service business.
