Full-Stack Developer (Spreadsheet/Excel Specialization) - Full-time - Worldwide

About the Project

We’re expanding our engineering team and looking for a Developer with deep expertise in spreadsheet technologies (.xlsx and OOML formats). The developer will help translate our large, columnar database into interactive, Excel-style interfaces and ensure seamless two-way data flow between the backend and the front end.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spreadsheet Integration: Parse, read, and write .xlsx (and other spreadsheet-based) files in real time.
• Data Formatting: Design and generate Excel-readable data formats that can be directly ingested, updated, and manipulated in Excel.
• UI Collaboration: Partner with our front-end team to render these tables in the web UI, capturing end-user inputs and passing them back to the backend.
• Performance & Reliability: Optimize read/write operations for large datasets to ensure responsiveness and data integrity.
• Tooling & Automation: Develop utilities, scripts, or services to automate common spreadsheet workflows and validations.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Strong proficiency with .xlsx and OOML file formats, including libraries such as OpenXML SDK, Apache POI, pyOpenXML, or similar.
• Experience building spreadsheet-based user interfaces or plugins.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, Vue) for embedding and managing spreadsheet components.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs or real-time data services to synchronize spreadsheet data with the backend.
• Demonstrated ability to optimize large-scale data operations in Excel or comparable tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
