Job Description 2: Frontend Portal Developer (Salesforce Integration Specialist)
Role Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Frontend Portal Developer (or potentially a small team) to build and maintain our external-facing client and worker portals. This role involves developing a user-friendly, responsive web application (either as a WordPress plugin or using a modern JavaScript framework like React, Vue.js, or Next.js) that will deeply integrate with our Salesforce backend via APIs. You will work closely with our Salesforce Platform Developer to consume APIs and deliver a seamless user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy responsive and intuitive user interfaces for our client and worker portals based on UI/UX designs and functional requirements (e.g., WM-002, CL-003, CL-010, FN-005).
- Integrate the portal frontend securely and efficiently with Salesforce REST APIs for data retrieval, creation, updates, and deletion (e.g., submitting forms that create/update Case records in Salesforce).
- Implement user authentication and authorization flows, interfacing with Salesforce for identity management (e.g., OAuth 2.0).
- Develop dynamic forms, data displays, file upload/download capabilities, and interactive features as specified in portal requirements.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimal performance of the portal.
- Collaborate closely with the Salesforce Platform Developer to understand API specifications, provide feedback, and troubleshoot integration points.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Implement unit and integration tests for frontend components.
- Stay up-to-date with modern frontend technologies and best practices.
Required Skills & Experience :
- 3-5+ years of experience developing web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue.js, or Next.js – proficiency in at least one is essential).
- Proven experience integrating JavaScript applications with external REST APIs, specifically Salesforce APIs.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and related frontend tooling (Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn).
- Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Vuex, Context API).
- Experience with frontend routing and building Single Page Applications (SPAs).
General Requirements for Both Paths:
- Solid understanding of RESTful API principles and consumption.
- Experience with authentication mechanisms like OAuth 2.0.
- Proficiency with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Ability to translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into functional web pages.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with responsive design and mobile-first principles.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
