West Tennessee Consulting is a nonprofit-focused technology firm dedicated to creating accessible, effective digital tools for social impact. We are currently repackaging internal software into scalable standalone products for nonprofit clients and launching new tools to streamline internal workflows. We're seeking a skilled Full-Stack Developer to support these initiatives.
The Role
You will join our product team to work on two main tracks:
- Repackaging Internal Software Products
We have a single app housing four internal-use tools. Your first task will be:
- Separating each product into a standalone, manageable app
- Performing light refactoring, updates, and UX/UI improvements
- Removing any branded/styling artifacts
- Integrating licensing logic via AWS Cognito for nonprofit clients
- Building a Communication Hub App (from Scratch)
- We’re creating a new internal communications app to unify help desk operations. You’ll:
- Build a Next.js-based frontend from provided mockups
- Integrate third-party services (Slack, email, e-signature tools)
- Collaborate on system design and backend integration
What You’ll Work With
- Frontend: Next.js, ShadCN, some legacy Material UI
- Backend: Python (preferred), Node.js
- Auth & Licensing: AWS Cognito
- Collaboration: GitHub, Slack
What We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of full-stack development experience
- Strong command of Next.js and modern frontend practices
- Familiarity with ShadCN and Material UI
- Experience modularizing/decoupling software products
- Bonus: Backend skills in Python, experience with AWS Cognito or similar auth systems
- Excellent communication and documentation habits
- Self-starter mindset comfortable working independently on scoped tasks
