The role

We're looking for a senior ML engineer to act as a fractional technical advisor to our team. This isn't a hands-on coding role — instead, you'll work alongside a small team of four developers, reviewing their results, challenging their technical decisions, and helping them grow faster. Think mentor and technical steer, with occasional code review.

What you'll do

• Join two 1-hour sessions per week to steer project direction and key technical decisions
• Review the team's results and challenge assumptions where it counts
• Provide occasional code review
• Help a junior team level up their computer vision and ML capabilities

Engagement details

• 2-5 hours per week (two 1-hour sessions)
• Initial 3-month engagement, flexible — with potential to extend based on fit
• Fully remote
• Available during Portuguese business hours (9am–6pm WEST) for live sessions
• Start: as soon as possible

Ideal profile

• Strong computer vision background — detection, tracking, video analytics, OCR (this is a must)
• Production ML experience, not just research
• Comfortable mentoring and steering a technical team
• Senior-level — someone who's solved hard problems before and can guide others through them
• Reliable and remote-friendly within the working window above
