Founding Data & Automation Engineer - Full-time - Spain/LATAM

About the company & Role

We are a leading infoproduct company in Spain.
Own our data pipeline, internal automations, and AI integrations end-to-end. You’ll be the founding IC with a path to Head of Data & Automation by proving you can ship reliably, fast, and with quality.

90-Day Outcomes (your scoreboard)

• ETL foundation live: Unified pipeline across our core sources with 99% successful runs and <60m data latency; automated syncs into Airtable and Databox.
• Automations that save time: Reporting, alerts, and finance/reconciliation flows live in Zapier/n8n; ≥10 hours/week team time saved, measured and documented.
• Data hygiene + governance: Naming conventions, data dictionary, QA tests, and runbooks in place; <1% field error rate across critical tables.
• AI shipped to production: 2 AI workflows live (e.g., support assist, lead triage, content/tagging) with clear before/after metrics and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain ETL across our stack (Airtable CRM, Databox, Zapier, n8n, Python).
• Implement alerting/monitoring, retries, and rollback to ensure reliability.
• Automate recurring reporting and finance/recon; remove manual exports.
• Enforce data standards, testing, and documentation; keep the system auditable.
• Ship pragmatic AI integrations (LLMs, classification, enrichment) tied to business KPIs.
• Triage and resolve internal tech requests fast; leave every system better than you found it.

Must-Have Skills

• 3+ years building data pipelines and automations (Python + Zapier/n8n).
• Airtable schema design, scripting, and API experience.
• Databox setup, KPI modeling, and automated updates.
• API integration fluency (auth, rate limits, webhooks); strong SQL fundamentals.
• Testing, monitoring, and documentation discipline; you think “production-first.”

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with background workers/queues; basic cloud deploys.
• Basic prompt engineering/RAG; vector DB familiarity.
• Spanish and/or Madrid-based availability (not required).
