Role Overview
Join Snowdrop Health as a Founding AI-Native Engineer to spearhead the development of an AI-native operations platform designed for patient access. Our mission is to streamline the enrollment process in assistance programs, coverage verification, and case management, allowing AI to handle routine tasks while humans focus on critical decision-making. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our inaugural patient access infrastructure for emerging biopharma, with a projected launch in 2026.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI agents managing the patient case lifecycle, including application intake, document extraction, data validation, coverage verification, and patient communication.
- Develop a PHI-aware data architecture, ensuring de-identification before inference and maintaining an audit trail for model calls.
- Integrate with healthcare systems and orchestrate across dependent services.
- Maintain high production standards, including on-call duties, incident response, and ensuring strict uptime SLAs.
- Collaborate directly with operations, IT, and clinical teams during discovery, user acceptance testing, and go-live phases.
Required Skills
- Over 5 years of experience in shipping production software, with significant responsibility for backend systems.
- Proficiency in a modern backend language such as Python, TypeScript, Kotlin, or Go, and the ability to make informed architectural decisions.
- Comprehensive understanding of backend technologies, including relational databases, cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), containerized services, and API design.
- Sensitivity to user experience, with a history of engaging with users and contributing to design discussions.
- Proven experience in building applications with LLMs, including handling model failure modes and structured output.
- Ability to transform ambiguous problems into defined architectures and deliver solutions.
- Competence in testing, measuring, and governing model behavior to ensure high accuracy.
Nice to Have
- Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries.
- Previous experience in early-stage or founding-engineer roles.
- Familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem, eligibility engines, document extraction, health compliance, or case-management workflows.
