FIX Protocol Developer

Role Overview

We are Goldwise, a UK based fintech building a physical precious metals trading platform.

We are in need of an experienced FIX developer to join the team initially for a short term sprint to review what has been built by a previous FIX developer, fix any errors with messages and ensure the system is built for business continuity.

We are using QuickFIX, STunnel & RabbitMQ to manage the messaging and so experience in these is required.

The developer will be joining a larger development team who will support with database, API and other areas.

There is a business need to have a FIX developer so once the sprint is complete, there may be additional demand for contract/FTE.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a review of the setup & configuration of FIX engine & Message queue
• Review the messages and tags we are sending and receiving to ensure tags and values are correct
• Ensure that session management is built for business continuity i.e. if we lose a session, another is automatically triggered

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in the FIX protocol and its implementation in financial systems.
• Experience with Python/FIX implementation.
• Experience with Bash/conf for infra (STunnel, services).
• Solid understanding of financial markets and trading systems.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
