About the Team
Our mission as the Consumer Payment Portal product team is to create intelligent solutions and services that allow our customers to easily pay down their financial obligations. As an Engineer II on our team, you will help us fulfill this mission by applying your strong technical and analytical skills to develop and extend our payments platform infrastructure to continue to process financial transactions safely, securely and consistently. You will work with our payment processing partners and gateways to identify new workflows with an eye on giving our consumers more options to suit their needs, such as alternative payment methods or flexible payment scheduling. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the UX, Design, and Experimentation teams to build and maintain a seamless front-end web experience, enabling consumers to easily make payments and manage their accounts.
Summary
On a daily basis, an Engineer II deals with a wide variety of tasks depending on the team they are in: streaming and microservices, A/B testing, data modeling and delivery, and internal tool building. Regardless of the daily tasks, the focus is on delivering high-quality, high-maintainability code. At this stage, they are honing their technical skills and may begin to explore beyond their immediate tech stack, delving into stack-agnostic patterns and architectures. They are starting to contribute to the team by not only completing tickets but also helping brainstorm new ideas, flagging inefficiencies, and influencing how the team does its work.
