We’re seeking a Camera Systems Engineer to develop and integrate a reliable, embedded camera solution for a countertop nail painting machine. You’ll develop the computer vision system that detects users’ hands, enabling the machine to accurately paint nails via stepper motors. The camera system will be built into an existing prototype on Fusion 360.
Responsibilities
- Implement a basic camera system for hand positioning feedback
- Work with embedded systems (ESP32 or similar) and integrate a lightweight camera module
- Help make positioning feedback reliable, consistent, and manufacturable
Ability to access and work from a Fusion 360 CAD model - this is the primary reference for the hardware layout
Required Skills
- Comfortable working with basic computer vision or camera-based feedback
- 3-5 years of experience with camera integration on embedded platforms
Key Contraints
- No Raspberry Pi
- The BOM & system should remain simple, efficient, and manufacturable
- You’ll be building on top of a physical prototype that already exists in Fusion 360
