Croghan.ie is an e-commerce site in its growth phase, launched six weeks ago. Built by an ERP-focused vendor, the site now requires specialized BigCommerce expertise to optimize performance, improve speed, and ensure seamless shopping cart functionality.
Role Overview:

We are seeking a BigCommerce Developer to assess, optimize, and provide ongoing support for croghan.ie. The ideal candidate will have strong e-commerce performance enhancement skills, excellent communication abilities, and preferably be based in Eastern Europe for better time zone alignment.
Potential for long-term partnership based on performance
Key Responsibilities:
- Initial site assessment: Evaluate site speed, performance, and structure.
- Optimization: Improve loading times, integrate a CDN, and enhance shopping cart functionality.
- Feature development: Implement phased improvements and future SEO-friendly pages.
- Ongoing support: Address technical issues and continuously refine the site.
- Collaboration: Work with stakeholders to align development with business needs.
Requirements:
- Expertise in BigCommerce (site optimization and customization).
- Strong frontend skills: Proficient in JavaScript, CSS, and HTML.
- E-commerce performance optimization experience.
- Excellent English communication skills (client-facing role).
- Preferred location: Eastern Europe (to ensure time zone overlap).
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to technical challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with CDN integration and caching strategies.
- Prior work optimizing shopping cart functionality and payment flows.
- Understanding of SEO best practices for e-commerce sites.
- Experience collaborating with distributed teams.
