As a Data Engineer at Fleet, you'll be a key contributor in building large-scale, dynamic data environments that fuel AI systems with realistic, structured, and behaviorally rich inputs.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Designing and maintaining synthetic data generation pipelines at scale (100,000+ files in diverse formats: PDF, Word, Markdown, emails, Python, SVG, etc.)
- Creating data structures and templates that mimic real-world business contexts, including variability in content, style, and structure
- Integrating AI tools into data pipelines for generating content, layout, structure, and visualizations
- Working creatively and independently to simulate realistic user behavior and business scenarios
- Collaborating with a distributed team of engineers and researchers at the frontier of AI development
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 1–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar technical role
- Hands-on experience building synthetic or large-scale data pipelines
- Proficiency in Python and modern data engineering tools
- Experience integrating AI/ML tools within pipelines—not just as assistants, but as functional components
- Strong ability to write clean, scalable, well-documented code
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Familiarity with LLM tools and AI development workflows
Nice-to-Have:
- Background in startups or research-heavy environments
- Side projects that demonstrate initiative, creativity, or technical depth
