Wilson Bittencourt, RecruiterRole Overview
Join us to create an innovative photo editing experience that fuses creativity with intelligence. Our goal is to enable users to type a mood and see custom visual edits applied through dynamic segmentation masks. We are seeking a skilled Computer Vision Engineer to design and implement a heuristic-based system for generating radial and linear masks for local image adjustments, focusing on efficiency without the need for heavyweight models or full semantic segmentation.
Responsibilities
- Develop logic for generating binary masks (radial, linear) by analyzing spatial layout cues such as light sources, subject focus, and sky regions.
- Implement lightweight, real-time heuristics using tools like OpenCV and NumPy to detect visual patterns including sky, subject location, and symmetry.
- Create segmentation masks and associated parameter presets (e.g., exposure, highlights, temperature) for application on the UI side.
- Collaborate closely with frontend teams (web or mobile) to ensure mask metadata is intuitive and easily editable.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of image processing fundamentals with tools like OpenCV and Pillow.
- Ability to write clean, testable Python code and effectively reason about geometry.
- Experience in designing heuristics and not solely relying on neural networks.
- Comfort with considering the UX implications of image layout decisions.
- Keen eye for how light, contrast, and spatial structure affect mood.
Nice to Have
- Experience with creative tools, photo editors, or filters.
- Basic knowledge of frontend development or WebAssembly.
- Interest in aesthetic photography or visual storytelling.
