Chief Technology Officer - FT Freelance - Worldwide

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technical strategy and execution at EncargoGo. You will be responsible for driving our technical vision, ensuring our platform aligns with business objectives centered around agentic, agnostic, and automated cross-border commerce.

Responsibilities

• Technical Strategy & Architecture: Develop and own the technical vision for EncargoGo, ensuring alignment with our business roadmap. Architect a scalable, API-first platform to support scrapers, merchant integrations, SmartCalculator, and SkyPostal logistics. Maintain the highest standards of security, compliance, and reliability across payments, automation, and logistics systems.

• Team Leadership & Project Management: Lead and mentor teams comprising Data/AI, Backend, Automation, and Frontend engineers. Define sprint priorities, break down deliverables, and ensure project milestones related to V3, automation, and scaling are achieved timely. Serve as the integrative force between engineering, product, design, and operations.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate directly with the CEO and product stakeholders to convert the core thesis of an agentic and platform-agnostic aggregator into tangible features. Coordinate with SkyPostal, payment partners, and merchants for seamless technical integration. Represent the technology aspect in investor discussions, clearly articulating defensibility, data moat, and scaling strategies.

• Operational Excellence: Establish and oversee DevOps processes including CI/CD, monitoring, error handling, and QA pipelines. Ensure cost efficiency in scaling efforts involving cloud services, APIs, proxies, and scraping infrastructure. Develop comprehensive documentation and developer playbooks for onboarding future hires.

Required Skills

• 10–12+ years of full-stack technical leadership experience across AI, backend, automation, and frontend domains.
• Proven track record as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Tech Lead in e-commerce, marketplaces, or logistics platforms.
• In-depth expertise in AI/NLP/ML, focusing on multilingual search, embeddings, and computer vision.
• Strong skills in Backend/API engineering with technologies such as Node.js, Python, REST/GraphQL, and microservices.
• Proficiency in Automation/RPA using tools like Playwright/Puppeteer and agentic systems.
• Experience in Frontend development, particularly with React/Next.js and mobile-first commerce interfaces.
• Solid project management capabilities, including Agile/Scrum methodologies, sprint planning, and cross-team coordination.
• Cloud-native approach with experience in AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerization using Docker/Kubernetes.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with cross-border commerce or payments/logistics systems is highly advantageous.
