Backend Engineer For Telehealth Platform Integration

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our team in developing an extension to our Telehealth platform. Your primary focus will be on integrating an e-commerce storefront with an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services to create and link patient profiles across our EMR and e-commerce platforms.
• Implement and manage workflows for patient intake forms, ensuring accurate data collection and efficient routing of questionnaires to healthcare providers based on their workload.
• Connect EMR APIs or webhooks for real-time retrieval of prescription status updates and chat integreation.
• Develop robust logic for managing prescriptions, including handling refills, monitoring expirations, and synchronizing with user subscription plans.
• Ensure the backend systems are secure, scalable, and reliable, adhering to healthcare industry standards.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Postgres databases and TypeScript.
• Experience in building and integrating backend APIs, webhooks, and service-oriented architectures.
• Familiarity with healthcare or telemedicine-related technologies and workflows is a strong plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with additional backend languages or frameworks such as NestJS or Laravel or similar.
• Familiarity with EMR integrations or healthcare data management systems.
