Back-end NodeJS Developer (marketing analytics product) - Full-time - LATAM/EU

About the Company

Statlas is a fast-growing, globally distributed tech company with a strong presence in the U.S. We're building data-driven web applications to support high-impact user workflows, with a focus on performance, clarity, and usability. Our team currently includes 10 developers across various regions, and we are now looking to expand with a key backend engineering hire.

Role Overview

We’re hiring a practical, experienced backend developer to support our growing product. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for a long-term role. You’ll collaborate closely with our frontend developer and product team to build, refine, and maintain backend systems that power our web application.

What You’ll Do:

• Own and improve our backend codebase built with Node.js, AWS Lambda, PostgreSQL, and Serverless Functions
• Work with the OpenAI API and other integrations to enable smart, data-driven features
• Develop and maintain REST APIs to support our Angular/TypeScript frontend
• Process and manage user data securely and efficiently
• Ensure backend systems are scalable, maintainable, and well-documented
• Communicate clearly with team members, understand user intent, and turn requirements into reliable code

Your First Task:

• Dive into our existing backend and fix and finalize critical features
• Ensure we’re ready to move into a user-focused release flow

Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years of backend development experience, with strong proficiency in Node.js
• Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless architectures
• Strong understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Comfortable building and documenting APIs for frontend consumption
• Familiarity with tools like the OpenAI API is a bonus
• Practical, reliable, and execution-focused—delivers clean code that just works
• Collaborative mindset: able to work closely with designers, frontend developers, and product owners
• Comfortable working in a growing codebase and following established architecture and coding standards

Big bonus if to have some experience with our industry - online/ecommerce marketing analytics

Nice to Have:

• Prior experience working in a distributed team environment
• Experience with DevOps workflows and CI/CD tools
• Understanding of data processing and ETL pipelines
