Role Overview
We are seeking an expert-level Azure Security Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric security, governance, and compliance to join a highly regulated enterprise project.
This role is focused on security architecture rather than data engineering or platform implementation. You will act as the senior authority responsible for designing, reviewing, and enforcing secure architecture standards across Azure and Microsoft Fabric environments, ensuring enterprise-grade governance, compliance, identity management, and operational security.
You will work alongside existing Fabric Data Engineers and Platform Architects, specifically owning the security, governance, and compliance architecture layer across the Azure data ecosystem.

- Define governance frameworks, security policies, and enterprise compliance standards across the platform.
- Design and review identity and access management architecture using Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, RBAC, and B2B access controls.
- Establish security architecture around network segmentation, firewall policies, routing, audit logging, and operational security controls.
- Review and challenge implementation decisions made by data engineering and platform teams from a security and governance perspective.
- Lead architecture discussions with customer stakeholders, implementation teams, and enterprise security teams.
- Produce architecture documentation covering security controls, governance models, compliance requirements, risk assessments, and operational handover.
- Ensure platform architecture meets enterprise security standards and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Support security reviews, architecture validation, and decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

- Experience with Microsoft Fabric tenant hardening and enterprise governance configuration.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks, data cataloging, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Experience working in enterprise environments with strict compliance and security requirements.
Important Note
- This is not a Data Engineer, Data Architect, or Microsoft Fabric implementation role.
- We already have Fabric implementation teams in place.
- The primary focus of this position is:
- Azure security architecture
- Microsoft Fabric security and governance
- Compliance controls and auditability
- Identity and access management
- Enterprise cloud security architecture
- Governance design for Azure data services
Candidates with primarily Data Engineering or Fabric implementation backgrounds, without strong Azure security expertise, will not be considered.
