Azure Back-End & AI Automation Developer (Microsoft Foundry) - PT - Overlap AU

About the project

Our client is an Australian AI agency that helps small businesses adopt AI through automations, AI agents and dashboards. You'll work alongside the agency lead to build the Azure back end and AI automations for a construction company. Discovery and systems mapping are done and documented, so this is a build role. The agency lead owns the front end.

What you'll do (Phase 1: Foundation, Accounts & Finance)

• Set up Azure in the client's tenant: Functions, PostgreSQL, Key Vault, Entra ID, Azure File Sync, and Claude via Microsoft Foundry
• Build a job database from signed contracts and variations. Sources are the file server and DocuSign, and it captures parties, price, stage amounts, colour scheme and dates. It also produces a mismatch report against Monday.com
• Build a read-only Assistant API over the job database. Every answer must cite its source record
• Integrate DocuSign, Monday.com, MYOB and Microsoft 365 (Graph / Outlook)
• Build these finance automations:
  *Supplier invoice matching: read invoices from the inbox, find the job number, propose an account code, match to the work order, flag variances, and draft a MYOB bill
  *Overdue receivables alerts at 7, 14 and 40 days
  *4-week receivables forecast
  *4-week cash flow by entity, with access restricted to the finance team
  *Invoice entity routing, using Outlook categories and Monday tasks
• Design every automation as human-in-the-loop: it drafts and flags, and a person approves before anything is sent or paid
• Provide read-only APIs for the front end

Must-have

• Strong Azure back-end experience: Functions, PostgreSQL, Key Vault, Entra ID
• Hands-on AI agent / LLM builds on Azure (Microsoft Foundry, Azure AI Foundry or Azure OpenAI)
• Microsoft 365 / Graph API integration, especially Outlook mail processing
• REST API integration with SaaS tools (DocuSign, Monday.com or similar)
• Document or data extraction from contracts and invoices into structured data
• Professional English; you'll interact with the end client
• A portfolio of recent, comparable Azure + AI agent projects to walk through in interview

• MYOB API experience
• Power Apps / Power Automate
• Accounting or finance workflow automation (AP/AR, cash flow)
