Position Overview:
The AI Solutions Engineer works directly under the Director of AI Solutions & Platform Strategy to build, refine, and support Madison AI’s suite of government-grade RAG assistants. This hands-on technical role is central to the ongoing evolution and scaling of our platform—delivering high-impact tools that meet strict compliance, transparency, and usability standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and enhance intent-driven RAG assistants under the direction of platform leadership, using Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Search, CosmosDB, and other modern tools.
• Build, test, and maintain data pipelines connecting internal and external data sources, including government records, GIS (ArcGIS), and web APIs.
• Develop and maintain prompt engineering workflows that produce structured, citation-backed outputs meeting rigorous style guides and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and client teams to identify requirements, scope new features, and troubleshoot platform issues.
• Document processes, code, and compliance standards for internal and client-facing use.
• Support production deployments and assist with platform scaling, performance optimization, and reliability.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience building and shipping AI/ML or NLP-powered applications, ideally in the public sector or a regulated environment.
• Strong Python skills; experience with Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Search, and API integrations.
• Familiarity with geospatial data (ArcGIS, Leaflet) and web data enrichment preferred.
• Attention to compliance, security, and documentation standards.
• Effective communicator, comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced team.
