Role Overview

Chartbeat is seeking an AI Product Manager / Lead or AI Product-Minded Builder / Engineer to help lead a critical platform initiative at the intersection of AI, media/content analytics, and ad tech.

This role will focus on building agentic, AI-powered workflows and MCP-based systems that connect editorial performance data (audience, content, engagement) with commercial workflows (ad sales, planning, and campaign optimization). You will work closely with product, engineering, data, and design teams to define and deliver the MVP of a new Platform experience purpose-built to help media organizations better align
content strategy with revenue outcomes.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role suited for someone who can operate at both strategic and execution levels, and who thrives in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.

Key Responsibilities

Product Leadership & Strategy

  • Drive product development for AI-powered platform capabilities, including agentic workflows and MCP-based services
  • Translate a high-level platform vision, design and direction into clear product requirements, use cases, and roadmap priorities/deliverables

AI / Agentic Systems Development

  • Lead development of agentic workflows that automate insights, recommendations, and actions across systems
  • Define requirements for MCP servers and AI orchestration layers
  • Partner with engineering and data teams to design systems leveraging content and audience analytics, commercial/ad performance data, and cross-platform intelligence Validation, Execution & Delivery
  • Work directly with internal stakeholders and customers to validate product direction
  • Drive end-to-end product execution including requirements, scoping, iteration, delivery
  • Operate as a player-coach, driving outcomes while collaborating deeply with cross-functional teams

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with:
    ○ Engineering (platform + AI/data teams)
    ○ Design (UX for AI-assisted workflows)
    ○ Commercial and customer-facing teams
  • Align stakeholders around product direction and tradeoffs
  • Engage with customers for research, validation and feedback throughout the development lifecycle

Ideal Candidate Profile

Core Product Experience

  • 8–12+ years in Product Management (or equivalent technical roles)
  • Proven experience building and shipping AI-powered SaaS products
  • Strong ability to operate in 0→1 and ambiguous problem spaces

AI / Technical Expertise
Hands-on experience with:

  • Agentic workflows / AI agents / automation systems
  • MCP servers or similar orchestration frameworks
  • LLM-powered applications, pipelines, or decision systems

Strong understanding of:

  • Data pipelines, APIs, and platform architecture
  • Analytics and insight generation systems

Domain Experience (Highly Preferred)

  • Experience in media, publishing, or ad tech ecosystems
  • Familiarity with:
    ○ Editorial workflows (content strategy, audience analytics)
    ○ Commercial workflows (ad sales, planning, operations)
    ○ Ad tech / martech stacks (e.g., OMS, SSPs, DSPs, analytics tools)

Execution & Leadership

  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Comfortable influencing without authority in cross-functional environments

Engagement Model

  • 6-9 month contract
  • Full-time or near full-time commitment strongly preferred
  • Embedded within the core product and engineering team
  • Direct collaboration with senior product and executive leadership
