Hypervisor Software Engineer
Remote | $140K–$170K + Bonus

We are seeking a senior Hypervisor Software Engineer to help design and develop advanced virtualization technologies supporting mission-critical edge computing platforms used in aerospace, defense, industrial automation, and high-assurance environments.
This role focuses heavily on low-level systems software engineering across x86 and ARM architectures, including hypervisors, kernel development, embedded Linux, RTOS, secure partitioning, and virtualization technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and optimize hypervisor and virtualization platforms
• Develop low-level systems software and kernel components
• Troubleshoot complex hardware/software integration issues
• Support embedded Linux and RTOS environments
• Drive architecture decisions focused on performance, scalability, reliability, and security
• Mentor engineering teams and contribute to long-term technical strategy
Required Skills:
• 10+ years of systems-level software engineering experience
• Strong C/C++ programming expertise
• Deep experience with hypervisors, virtualization, kernels, or OS internals
• Experience with KVM, Xen, VMware, and/or Hyper-V
• Strong knowledge of x86 and ARM architectures
• Assembly language and low-level debugging experience
• Performance optimization and reliability engineering expertise
Preferred:
• RTOS or embedded Linux experience
• Aerospace, defense, or edge computing background
• Experience with safety-critical systems or secure partitioning technologies
