Position Description:

We are seeking a Senior GIS Software Engineer to join a Fortune 500 Utilities organization, supporting and enhancing its enterprise-wide ArcGIS and ArcFM systems. This role focuses on development, administration, and technical support of GIS applications critical to infrastructure and landbase operations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong Python, AngularJS, and ArcGIS Enterprise experience who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. You’ll contribute to improving system performance, developing enhancements, and ensuring reliability for enterprise GIS solutions used across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and enhance GIS applications using Python, AngularJS, ArcGIS JavaScript API, and ASP.NET (C#).
• Provide Tier 1–3 technical support for enterprise GIS and ArcFM systems.
• Administer and maintain ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal and Server), including site deployment and configuration.
• Monitor system performance, optimize server operations, and manage system tuning.
• Publish GIS services, manage user roles, and configure security permissions.
• Support Landbase applications by troubleshooting, implementing fixes, and developing new features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Server Support, Security, and Database Administration (DBA).
• Participate in on-call rotations, with flexibility between 9 AM and 9 PM EST and occasional weekend support.
• Provide updates on support tickets and collaborate closely with client Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).

Required Skills/Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of hands-on experience in ArcGIS administration, support, and development.
• 5–10 years of experience with ArcFM applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python, AngularJS, ArcGIS JavaScript API, and .NET (C#) development.
• Proven experience deploying and managing ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal and Server) environments.
• Demonstrated ability in system monitoring, performance tuning, and service publishing.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional IT teams.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with excellent communication and documentation abilities.

Preferred Skills:

• Utility Industry Experience: Knowledge of electric, gas, or water utilities GIS workflows.
• FME Suite Experience: Experience with Safe Software’s FME for GIS Landbase data processing and integration.
• Windows Server Administration: Familiarity with server environments supporting GIS platforms.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions.
