About the Role

 

At Curio Brands, we’re exploring how exceptional design and emerging technology can push creativity forward. As the Creative Designer, Emerging Media, you have a strong foundation in design and a passion for creating compelling work for lifestyle brands. This is first and foremost a hands-on design role, with an opportunity to explore how generative AI, motion, and emerging creative technologies can expand what’s possible.

 

We see AI as a powerful tool within the creative process. The strongest AI-enabled work still requires creative concepting, art direction and graphic design expertise to ensure every output is intentional, distinctive and right for our brands. This role will help define how AI, motion, and new creative technologies enhance the way we design, create, and tell stories across our portfolio of premium lifestyle brands.

 

As Curio’s in-house resource for AI-enabled creative development, you’ll partner across Capri Blue, Thymes, Otherland, and future brands to accelerate ideation, elevate content creation, and develop new ways of telling stories. While providing ongoing creative support for Otherland’s always-on marketing, you’ll also serve as a creative innovation partner across the broader organization, helping teams work more efficiently, explore new possibilities, and create more compelling brand experiences.

What You’ll Do

 

Brand Design & Creative Execution, 40%

* Lead design and execution of marketing assets across digital, ecommerce, social, retail, presentations, email, and paid media.
* Serve as the primary creative designer supporting Otherland's always-on business while contributing across the Curio portfolio.
* Translate brand strategies into premium, consumer-centric creative that is both visually compelling and commercially effective.
* Collaborate closely with Brand Marketing, Product Innovation, Creative, Digital, and Sales teams to bring launches and campaigns to life.

 

AI Creative Development, 25%:

* Champion the use of generative AI to accelerate concept development, campaign visualization, product imagery, mockups, mood boards, and creative exploration.
* Experiment with emerging AI tools to unlock new creative possibilities across design, photography, illustration, and content creation.
* Build prompt libraries, creative workflows, and best practices that enable AI adoption within the creative team.
* Evaluate new AI platforms and recommend tools that improve quality, efficiency, and innovation.

 

Motion Design & Video, 20%:

* Create engaging motion graphics, animations, and short-form video for social media, ecommerce, retail, presentations, and advertising.
* Produce AI-assisted video content, product animations, campaign storytelling, and motion assets across brands.
* Edit video with compelling pacing, typography, transitions, music, and sound design.
* Partner with Marketing and Social teams to develop content optimized for emerging digital platforms.

 

Creative Innovation & Emerging Technology, 15%:

* Serve as Curio's internal creative resource for AI and emerging media.
* Identify opportunities where AI and automation can enhance the creative process, rather than replace it.
* Introduce new technologies, workflows, and capabilities that improve creative output across the organization.
* Train and inspire fellow creatives by sharing new tools, techniques, and best practices.
* Help shape how Curio leverages emerging technologies to build stronger brands and more engaging consumer experiences.

What You Bring

 

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Motion Design, or related field
* 3–6+ years of professional design experience
* Exceptional portfolio demonstrating strong branding, typography, layout, and digital design
* Demonstrated success in producing motion graphics and video content
* Passion for generative AI and a desire to push creative boundaries.
* Ability to balance experimentation with strong design judgment.
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

 

Preferred:

* Experience with home fragrance, beauty, or lifestyle categories.
* Experience with many of the following:
* Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
* After Effects
* Premiere Pro
* Figma
* Midjourney
* Adobe Firefly
* Runway
* OpenAI (ChatGPT & image generation)
* Veo
* Kling
* Sora
* Canva AI
* Other emerging AI creative platforms

 

What Success Looks Like:

Within your first year, you will:

* Become Curio's trusted expert for AI-enabled creative development.
* Elevate Otherland's always-on creative with fresh, premium visual storytelling.
* Increase the volume and quality of motion and video content across our brands.
* Introduce scalable AI workflows that improve speed, efficiency, and creative exploration.
* Inspire the Creative team to embrace new technologies while maintaining world-class design standards.
* Help establish Curio as a leader in applying AI thoughtfully and creatively within the consumer brands industry.

 

Additional Information

* Travel Requirement: up to 5%
* Work Environment: General office or home office environment
* Physical Requirements:
* Occasionally required to lift and/or move items weighing 10 – 15 pounds.
* When in a facility, occasional exposure to dusty and fragrant conditions
