With ISC operating as an independent Operating Unit with end-to-end accountability, this role plays a critical leadership role in shaping expert-led growth for the ISC OU while leading the Expert Marketing function for OTC and Wellness, one of Haleon’s largest, fastest-growing and most complex portfolios. 
 
Role Purpose 
 
The Expert Strategy & Transformation and OTC + Wellness Expert Marketing Lead is accountable for driving the Expert Strategy & Transformation agenda across the whole Expert function and portfolio (in partnership with the Head of Categories, Head of Expert, and other OU LT members) while leading Expert Marketing with a particular focus on OTC & Wellness within the ISC OU. 
 
This is a combined strategic + execution leadership role, integrating: 
 

* Expert Strategy & Transformation – shaping HCP-led growth strategy, embedding expert thinking early in innovation and category plans, and driving simplification and scale
* Expert Marketing Leadership – owning expert strategy, content, activation and performance
* ISC OU Enablement – acting as the single Expert SPOC for OTC & Wellness, ensuring clarity of decisions, prioritisation and execution in line with the Haleon Operating Model 
 
 
 

The role operates at the intersection of Category Strategy, Innovation, Medical, Expert Marketing and Commercial execution, with a strong mandate on impact, speed, and disciplined delivery. 
 
Key Accountabilities 
 


* Expert Strategy & Transformation (Whole Expert function & portfolio)
* HCP Segment Strategy & Prioritisation
* Identify and accelerate the right HCP segments across the Expert portfolio, tailored to category maturity, access priorities and growth ambition
* Define clear HCP prioritisation frameworks that maximise recommendation and prescription impact
* Identify and leverage cross-category synergies (e.g., Pharmacists, GPs) where audiences overlap, while preserving category-specific depth
* Expert-Led Demand Creation
* Design and drive HCP-led demand creation strategies aligned to portfolio and Access (India 2 / rural) priorities
* Improve the quality, relevance and effectiveness of expert engagement models, ensuring strategies translate into behaviour change
* Partner closely with Expert Sales, GTM and ComEx teams to ensure strategy lands in execution
* Innovation Enablement from an Expert Lens
* Embed expert thinking early in innovation and NPI lifecycles (idea → pilot → scale-up)
* Influence product positioning, claims, education strategy and adoption plans using expert insights
* Ensure innovations are designed for success with HCPs, including across relevant cross-category adjacencies
* Data-Led Insight & Feedback Loops
* Leverage data from HCP interactions, engagement metrics and medical feedback
* Translate expert insights into clear inputs for portfolio strategy, innovation and category plans
* Partner with Business Insights & Analytics to ensure expert metrics are tracked, interpreted and acted upon
* Ways of Working & Governance
* Act as the central expert strategy node connecting Category, Expert Marketing, Expert Sales, R&D, Medical Affairs.
* Support simplification of decision-making, clear RACIs and faster execution as part of ISC OU transformation
* Influence outcomes without owning P&L, through upstream strategic quality and downstream effectiveness
* Expert Marketing Strategy & Activation (OTC & Wellness)
* Expert Marketing Strategy (OTC & Wellness)
* Own the Expert Marketing strategy with a particular focus on OTC & Wellness, ensuring differentiation grounded in trusted science and human relevance
* Define expert value propositions, strategic narratives and engagement architecture by category and brand
* Content, Toolkits & Scientific Storytelling
* Lead development of expert content pipelines (claims, studies, toolkits, scientific narratives, e-learning)
* Partner with R&D, Medical, Regulatory and Global teams to ensure credibility, compliance and scalability
* Performance Management & Optimisation
* Establish and run disciplined performance dashboards for Expert Marketing (coverage, effectiveness, ROI)
* Drive continuous optimisation based on what truly drives recommendations and adoption
* Leadership & Stakeholder Management
* Team Leadership
* Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Expert Marketing team, building depth of expertise and a strong performance culture
* Develop future capability in expert strategy, content excellence and activation effectiveness
* Cross-Functional Partnership
* Act as a trusted strategic partner to Category Heads, Sales, Medical, R&D, Digital, ComEx and external experts
* Represent ISC Expert Marketing in cross-OU and Global forums, contributing to enterprise learning and evolution of the Expert model

* HCP coverage and activation effectiveness aligned to IAP priorities

Experience & Capability (Why You) 
 


* 13 -15+ years’ experience in Strategy, HCP/ Pharma Marketing, Category Marketing, Pharma or Consumer Health.
* Proven track record of leading expert-led growth strategies with impact
* Deep understanding of omnichannel expert engagement, content strategy and GTM enablement
* Strong influencing, storytelling and stakeholder leadership capability
