Role: Data Scientist

Job Type: Contract (W2)

Location: USA (Remote with travel)

Duration: 6 Months (Extension Possible)

Work Model: Remote (USA) with 25%–30% travel required across the USA

 

About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Data Scientist with a strong background in manufacturing and industrial systems. The role involves building scalable data solutions, deploying machine learning models, and enabling real-time analytics to improve shop floor operations, production efficiency, and overall business outcomes. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and bridge OT and IT systems.

 

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and deploy ML models for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, demand forecasting, and root cause analysis
* Build scalable data pipelines for high-volume manufacturing and IoT data
* Integrate data from MES, SCADA, and ERP systems for real-time analytics
* Apply OEE, SPC, Six Sigma, and lean methodologies to improve production efficiency
* Work with industrial protocols such as OPC-UA, MQTT, and Modbus
* Perform statistical analysis including time series, regression, clustering, and hypothesis testing
* Design and conduct A/B experiments and simulations to validate process improvements
* Translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations
* Collaborate with engineering, operations, and leadership teams

 

Required Skills

* 8–10 years of experience as a Data Scientist
* Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
* Hands-on experience with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, and Delta Lake
* Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Databricks, or Snowflake
* Strong understanding of statistical methods and machine learning techniques
* Experience deploying ML models into production environments
* Knowledge of MES, SCADA, and ERP systems

 

Preferred Qualifications

* 2–3 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
* Experience with IoT and real-time data streaming
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma practices
* Experience working with large-scale production data systems
