BADI Culture is designed in Switzerland and responsibly made in Europe and South Africa. We focus on sustainable and long-lasting everyday pieces.

 

We are looking for a product designer based in Cape Town to assist us in a freelance capacity.

What you will be doing:

* Assist in developing new products and collections
* improve existing products to meet our sustainability standards and circular economy goals
* Prototype products such as bags, backpacks and various accessories
* Coordinate with production partners in Cape Town
* Support our communication team with content and technical input

What are your requirements:

* 3–4 years of work experience in product or accessory design
* Strong experience in developing bags and accessories
* Degree in fashion or product design
* Skilled in sewing and working with canvas and leather
* Very familiar with sustainable production, materials and circular economy principles
* Well organised and able to plan and deliver on time
* Enjoy writing and understand the importance of storytelling
* Team player who can also work independently
* Based in Cape Town or within 40 minutes of the CBD
* Mobile and holding a valid driver’s licence
* Fluent in English; German is a plus
