**Design Engineer, Environmental Design Engineer, Water Design Engineer, Wastewater Design Engineer, Design Engineer - Environmental,**

**Job Summary**  
**Responsibilities include:**

*   _Design of water and wastewater process components including piping, pumps, equalization/flow control and measurement including water/groundwater treatment systems for the removal of solids, metals, VOCs, and other parameters, per client operation and regulatory requirements._
*   _Selection and design of physical and biological treatment processes, which may include chemical precipitation, ion exchange, clarification, filtration, GAC and biological technologies._
*   _Development of system process flow diagrams (PFDs), water balance, and Process/Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)._
*   _Assist in preparing plans and specifications for treatment systems and related collection, conveyance, and monitoring systems._
*   _Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operation and maintenance (O&M) plans._
*   _Provide direction to internal and external technology design teams to facilitate system upgrades, troubleshooting, bench-scale and pilot studies, and other related engineering tasks._
*   _Provide support to other engineering disciplines (geotechnical, civil, plumbing, electrical) as needed._
*   _Provide direct oversight and management of junior and mid-level staff for specific project assignments, and overall training and mentoring of staff on the team._
*   _Lead and/or assist in the preparation of proposals including development of scope and costs._
*   _Manage project financials as project or task manager._
*   _Interact with and build relationships with clients, contractors/subcontractors, and internal practice leaders._
*   _Demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and responsiveness to client needs._
*   _Manage and deliver multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines._
*   _Prepare technical documents including reports, permit applications, and other written deliverables._
*   _Travel to client sites as needed to support project and client needs._
*   _Perform other duties as requested._

**Qualifications**

*   _Bachelor’s degree in_ _**civil/environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.**_
*   _**7+ years of experience working in the environmental engineering field, with a minimum of 5 years focused on water, wastewater or remediation process design.**_
*   _Highly proficient in_ _**AutoCAD; working ability in Civil 3D, HydroCAD**_ _and other design software a plus._
*   _**Professional Engineer (PE) license or on track to obtain within 2 years.**_
*   _**40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.**_
*   _Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and projects._
*   _Willingness and ability to identify new client opportunities and manage client relationships is strongly desired._
