About the Opportunity:

This team enables organizations to transform complex data into actionable insights through advanced data management solutions. The Principal Product Manager will lead the product ownership of a cloud-native data warehouse service, focusing on technical integration, data lakehouse architecture, and simplification of complex software for enterprise customers.

  

Responsibilities:

• Own the product vision and strategy for core SQL engines, Apache Hive and Apache Impala

• Develop and maintain a prioritized product roadmap aligned with product strategy

• Define and prioritize features for advanced data lakehouse capabilities with Apache Iceberg integration

• Direct development of features for elasticity, cost optimization, and automated resource management in Kubernetes environments

• Conduct market research and serve as a primary conduit for customer feedback

• Define product requirements for consistent experience across public and private cloud deployments

• Drive product launches in collaboration with Marketing, Sales, and Documentation teams

• Define and track KPIs for adoption and revenue

• Write clear Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), epics, and user stories for data platform features

• Partner with Engineering to understand technical trade-offs and architecture decisions

• Collaborate with UX/Design to ensure complex features are delivered with a simple user experience

• Serve as the senior product expert for hybrid cloud data lakehouse architectures with customers, partners, and analysts

  

Requirements:

• 8+ years as a Product Manager, with significant hands-on experience in distributed data platforms or cloud-native data services

• Deep, verifiable expertise in Kubernetes orchestration and the Apache Iceberg open table format

• Expert understanding of Hive/Impala for enterprise ELT/ETL and analytical workloads

• Proven ability to write clear PRDs, use cases, and user stories, and simplify complex technical solutions

• Experience managing products for both public cloud and on-premises private cloud deployments

• MBA and prior experience in a Director of Product Management (individual contributor) role preferred
