Data Science Expert

Hourly Contract | Part-time | Remote Canada | $80–$120/hour

About the Role

An advanced AI research initiative is engaging experienced data science professionals to contribute to a series of high-impact research projects. This work involves code validation, prompt refinement, algorithmic evaluation, and benchmarking model performance. The role offers a unique opportunity to apply your technical expertise to shape the next generation of intelligent systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Review and refine AI-generated prompts, responses, and code
* Validate technical concepts for accuracy and correctness
* Provide structured feedback on solution quality, clarity, and applicability
* Tag and organize content by difficulty level and domain
* Support benchmarking tasks to assess model performance

Ideal Qualifications

* 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied statistics (industry or research)
* Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (Bachelor’s minimum; advanced degree preferred)
* Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; familiarity with R, Java, or Scala is a plus
* Hands-on experience building and deploying ML models using frameworks such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
* Expertise in statistical analysis, data wrangling, and feature engineering with large datasets

Project Timeline

* Start Date: Immediate
* Duration: 1–2 months
* Commitment: Part-time, ~15–25 hours/week (with flexibility up to 40 hours/week)
* Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous — flexible working hours

Compensation & Contract

* Competitive hourly rate: $80–$120 USD/hour (based on experience)
* Independent contractor arrangement
* Payments issued daily via Stripe Connect
