National Forest Foundation (NFF) is pleased to offer an Exempt, Full-time, 2-Year Term position that will work across the NFF and Forest Service teams to coordinate the analysis of research projects tied to forest recreation users. The insights uncovered through this work will inform marketing and fundraising campaigns aimed at raising critical funds for recreational infrastructure needs across National Forests and will help National Forests better understand users’ recreation habits to help inform future recreation infrastructure and visitor services investments. 
 
About the NFF: The National Forest Foundation was chartered by Congress in 1993 and is the official national partner of the US Forest Service (USFS). The Foundation leads with impact through three pillars of work: wildfire risk reduction, reforestation, and recreation for all. NFF works closely with communities and organizations across the nation to help advance the Foundation’s mission to restore, enhance and connect all Americans to National Forests and Grasslands. 
 
The Foundation has grown significantly in the last few years in programmatic impact, revenue, and organizational capacity. Moreover, as a leader in forest conservation, the Foundation deploys 90% of its expenses towards projects and programs across the country’s 193-million-acre National Forest System. Position Function: The Recreation Marketing Data Analyst reports to the Media Relations Manager in strong collaboration with the Senior Director of Conservation, Director of Conservation Finance, and the GIS Program Developer. The incumbent is responsible for running anonymized cellphone data tests to identify recreational forest use trends so that the NFF and partners can develop strategies and campaigns for engaging users to support efforts to improve forest visitor experiences. Additionally, the Recreation Marketing Data Analyst will coordinate a working group consisting of NFF and Forest Service stakeholders with the aim of soliciting feedback on what data is needed and how best to make it actionable. 
 
Position Duties and Responsibilities: The Recreation Marketing Data Analyst will: 
 

* Run tests and analyze data on forest use patterns, demographics, etc., and create reports to help guide targeted marketing campaigns.
* Coordinate with the Marketing team to develop marketing/ad campaigns to drive awareness and revenue based on visitor data.
* Integrate with NFF’s Conservation Finance and GIS teams to identify the greatest needs and support the creation of funding mechanisms to invest in recreational infrastructure projects on select National Forests.
* Develop list of insights and best practices on the use of anonymized cellphone data to create case studies to help guide NFF and FS efforts.
* Coordinate a working group with representatives from NFF and at least three cooperating National Forests.
* Provide ongoing reporting on lessons learned and identify future opportunities for Working Group members to consider. 
 
 

Education and Qualifications: The NFF expects the Recreation Marketing Data Analyst to possess the following educational and experiential qualifications: 
 

* Bachelor’s degree, professional certification, or equivalent experience.
* Minimum of three years’ work experience.
* Must be authorized to work in the United States. 
 
 

Abilities and Skills: The NFF expects the Recreation Marketing Data Analyst to possess the following proven abilities and skills: 
 

* Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
* Experience analyzing demographic and geographic data and creating actionable reports.
* Basic knowledge of digital advertising and audience targeting.
* Proven ability to learn new technologies and applications.
* Excellent written communication skills.
* Ability to work cross functionally, providing baseline data and ensuring its usefulness.
* Ability to work independently. 
 
 

Location: The location for this position is flexible throughout the lower 48 states. This position is a remote/work-from-home position and requires reliable internet access and a dedicated workspace. 
 
Compensation: The NFF offers competitive compensation and benefits. The starting salary range for this position is $61,000 to $62,700, with the ability to grow to $70,200 and above.
