Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Staff Software Engineer, macOS/iOS to lead our iOS engineering team. As a lead, you will oversee the full development lifecycle of complex iOS projects, provide technical guidance, and set best practices to ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to shape the product roadmap while mentoring and developing team members. Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership

* Oversee the full development lifecycle of complex iOS projects, from concept to release and maintenance.
* Provide technical guidance to engineers, ensuring efficient design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
* Set and enforce coding standards, best practices, and architectural principles. Architecture & Design
* Act as the primary engineering lead in initiatives and development.
* Debug and review team members' code to ensure best practices.
* Architect reusable software components and frameworks to ensure scalability, high performance, and maintainability.
* Evaluate and implement new technologies and frameworks that align with project objectives.

 

 

Collaboration & Communication

* Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including product managers, designers, and backend teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
* Provide clear, concise, and actionable feedback to team members.
* Represent the iOS engineering perspective in strategic discussions and influence the product roadmap.

 

 

Mentorship & Team Development

* Lead and mentor other Swift engineers, fostering a culture of growth, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Conduct code reviews, pair programming sessions, and team workshops to raise technical proficiency.

 

 

Quality & Performance

* Implement and advocate for high-quality testing practices, including unit, integration, and UI tests.
* Monitor and optimize app performance, reliability, and security.
* Identify and resolve technical debt to maintain sustainable development velocity

 

 

Qualifications:

* Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* 5+ years in iOS or macOS development.
* Strong understanding of multithreading and memory management in iOS.
* Experience with Core ML and Metal for on-device machine learning.
* Familiarity with Xcode, Instruments, and other iOS development tools.
* Knowledge of iOS security best practices and privacy considerations.
* Solid understanding of network protocols such as MQTT and WSS.
