ATSVR collaborates with enterprise companies, hospital systems, medical universities, and government agencies to develop state-of-the-art VR training experiences. We are a global, remote-only company headquartered in Austin, Texas, with our development team based in Thessaloniki, Greece.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to drive the development of our VR training modules, in support of a strategic industry partnership. This role will be pivotal in designing, programming, and delivering innovative VR training simulations hosted on the ATS Hero SaaS platform. This position reports to the CTO in Greece.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

* Design and develop a library of virtual reality (VR) training modules that include multiple difficulty levels and training personas per module, as specified in Client Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs) and based on specific Learning Objectives (LOs).
* Integrate modules onto the ATS Hero SaaS platform, built on Microsoft Azure tech stack, to host and deliver VR training modules. Revise and enhance this platform as needed.
* Contribute to the design, development and integration of a generative AI system to modify existing training simulations and create all-new AI generated training modules.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all training modules meet industry standards for VR simulations, including compatibility with various VR headset hardware.
* Maintain code quality, organization, and automation through rigorous unit and integration testing, implementing CI/CD best practices.
* Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, utilizing Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) for transparency, collaboration, and progress tracking.
* Conduct code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to ensure high-quality deliverables, on time and within budget targets.
* Collaborate with team members responsible for generating graphic assets, environments, manipulable objects, avatar mo-cap animations and more.
* Mentor junior developers, guiding them in solving complex technical challenges.
* Document implemented functionality that contributes to the creation of FRDs and LOs.
* Work with QA engineers to maintain the quality and performance of the ATS Hero platform and all training modules, including new features and functions.
* Support platform maintenance, bug fixes, and enhancements in support of the development milestones and roadmap.
* Contribute to the software escrow process to ensure module accessibility as needed.

 

More About You

 

* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
* 3–5 years of experience developing Unity-based VR training simulations or similar immersive applications.
* Strong proficiency in C# and Unity3D for VR development, with additional knowledge of WebGL builds and deployment.
* Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud-based technology stacks.
* Fluent in professional-level English, including written and verbal communication skills.
* Proven experience with Agile Scrum methodologies and related tools (Jira, Confluence).
* Knowledge of "Serious Gaming," VR training technologies, and WebGL is a plus.
* Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
* Experience working in a startup or scale-up environment is a plus.
* Passion for creating high-impact, protocol-based skills training solutions.
