Director of Retail Brand Marketing & Public Relations 
 
Position Overview: 
 
Brilliant Earth is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee both our retail brand marketing and public relations initiatives. This role will be responsible for bringing the Brilliant Earth brand to life across our approximately 40 showroom locations throughout the United States while simultaneously advancing our mission and promoting our brand values through strategic media relations and external communications. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience as a strategic marketing and PR leader who has conceived, executed, and maintained elevated brand experiences for premium consumer brands, with a strong focus on both physical retail environments and broader brand storytelling. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
 
_Retail Brand Strategy & Experience: 
 
_

* Develop and articulate a comprehensive retail brand marketing strategy aligned with overall business objectives
* Lead the integration of brand marketing initiatives across physical showrooms, e-commerce, and emerging channels
* Serve as a critical team member in the development of new showrooms, ensuring the brand experience is seamlessly integrated into design and customer journey
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize store design, layout, visual merchandising, and overall consumer experience 
 
 

_Public Relations & External Communications: 
 
_

* Develop and implement comprehensive PR strategies to build brand awareness and support Brilliant Earth's mission
* Cultivate and manage relationships with key media contacts, industry influencers, and editors to secure strategic coverage
* Oversee the management of PR agencies, including weekly calls, reporting, editor product sends, and celebrity/influencer gifting
* Collaborate on the planning and execution of events, including product launches, showroom openings, and special promotions 
 
 

_Brand Leadership:

* Partner with senior leadership to define and communicate brand positioning that resonates with target audiences
* Develop and maintain consistent, compelling brand messaging across all consumer touchpoints
* Oversee the development of integrated marketing campaigns that drive traffic, sales, and brand affinity
* Create engaging PR materials, press releases, and content that support both retail and PR initiatives 
 
 

_Operational Management: 
 
_

* Develop and manage budgets for both retail marketing and PR, ensuring optimal allocation of resources
* Monitor campaign performance, measure key indicators, and provide insights for continuous improvement
* Foster a culture of creativity, innovation, and accountability within the marketing department
* Lead and mentor team members, providing guidance and development opportunities 
 
 

Qualifications: 
 


* 10+ years of experience in brand marketing and public relations, with significant experience in a D2C retail environment
* Proven track record of developing and leading retail brand executions at scale
* Established media relationships and successful PR campaign history
* Experience working with premium or luxury brands in an omnichannel environment
* Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
* Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
* Robust leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams
* Ability to effectively balance multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
* Understanding and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and workplace belonging
* Passion for sustainability, ethics, and social responsibility
* Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field; advanced degree is a plus
