Your Role

 

Mighty Jaxx is expanding our creative team! We are on the lookout for talented Concept Artists, 3D Artists and Graphic Designers with varying levels of experience to join our dynamic, collaborative environment. Whether you’re just starting to make your mark or are a seasoned professional, we have opportunities for you to contribute to the development of our unique, high-quality collectibles.

 

Concept Art: We are looking for a Senior Concept Artist and a Concept Artist to lead and support the ideation and visual development of our upcoming collectibles. You will work alongside an Art Director, our internal teams: across marketing, production, and design, bringing compelling ideas to life while maintaining the highest creative standards. Senior candidates will also guide junior team members and shape the overall artistic direction.

 

3D Art: We are seeking 3D Artists and Senior 3D Artists to create top-tier 3D models that bridge concept and production. You will collaborate closely with our internal teams: across concept art and production, crafting our innovative product lines. Senior candidates will mentor junior artists and refine our processes, ensuring quality and efficiency at every stage.

 

Graphic Design: We are looking for Graphic Designers to deliver fresh and innovative designs that support our online and offline platforms, as well as branding and marketing campaigns. You will ensure design consistency and alignment with brand objectives and collaborate frequently online with cross-functional teams based in Singapore.

 

Responsibilities

 

Here’s what you can expect to be responsible for, depending on your area of expertise:

 

Concept Art Responsibilities:

* Creative Development & Art Direction: Produce detailed concept art in a variety of styles, ensuring designs are suitable for toy production. Collaborate closely with Art Directors, production teams, and external partners to translate concepts into final products.
* Product Quality Assurance: Ensure design quality throughout the development cycle, reviewing 3D models and product samples to meet desired artistic and technical standards.
* Industry Knowledge & Trend Awareness: Stay informed on popular IPs, fandoms, and collectible trends. Leverage this knowledge to create culturally relevant designs that appeal to our target audience.
* \[For senior candidates\]: Team Leadership & Mentorship: Set and maintain high creative standards, offering feedback and guidance to junior team members. Senior candidates will assist in leading the creative direction and mentoring others to meet the team’s artistic goals.

 

3D Art Responsibilities:

* Creative Development & Strategy: Collaborate with leadership and fellow creatives to shape the vision and strategy of 3D models for collectible products. Work with fellow creatives to build and maintain a 3D asset library to improve team efficiency.
* 3D Modeling & Production: Create and refine high-quality 3D assets that translate concept art into production-ready designs. Play a key role in overseeing the quality of 3D sculpts and ensuring product consistency from concept to final production.
* Quality Control & Efficiency: Lead sample reviews and ensure that all 3D models meet the brand’s creative standards. Develop efficient workflows that enhance the transition from digital sculpting to manufacturing.
* \[For senior candidates\]: Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior 3D artists, providing guidance and feedback to ensure alignment with project goals. Senior 3D Artists will also drive process improvements for seamless collaboration across teams.

 

Graphic Design Responsibilities:

* Creative Design and Branding: Produce impactful and conceptual graphic designs for branding, campaigns, and product marketing, tailored for both online and offline platforms. Manage creative projects from initial concept to final execution, ensuring alignment with brand identity. Formulate creative concepts to support and enhance marketing campaigns.
* Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with the UI/UX, Visual Merchandising (VM), and Marketing teams to understand brand, platform, and business objectives. Provide design solutions and support to ensure that visual assets align with business goals and user experience needs. Participate in cross-functional brainstorming and feedback sessions to ensure consistency in creative direction.
* Project Management and Execution: Ensure timely delivery of design materials across multiple platforms, adhering to project timelines and brand guidelines. Maintain organised documentation and files for design projects to facilitate revisions and updates. Stay updated on current design trends and propose improvements to elevate the brand’s visual presence.

 

Requirements

 

Here are some of the requirements for each role, depending on your area of expertise:

 

Concept Art Requirements:

* Extensive experience in concept art, with a strong focus on character design and illustration fundamentals (style, anatomy, design principles, and color theory).
* Proficiency in 2D illustration software such as Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, SAI, or Krita.
* Ability to clearly communicate ideas and provide/receive constructive feedback within a team environment.
* Experience with 3D sculpting workflows and tools like ZBrush or Blender would be a plus.
* Knowledge of physical product design processes, including 3D printing, painting, and manufacturing.
* Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and experience in the toy and collectibles industry are advantageous.
* Passion for fandoms, collectibles, and staying engaged with pop culture trends.

 

3D Art Requirements:

* Prior experience in 3D modeling, ideally within toy or collectibles industries.
* Proficiency in ZBrush, with experience in additional 3D modeling tools such as 3ds Max, Maya, Blender, and Keyshot.
* Strong understanding of art styles, structure, and form, with the ability to translate them into high-quality 3D models.
* Familiarity with design tools like Adobe Suite to complement the modeling process.
* Strong communication skills for managing timelines, resources, and team collaborations.
* Passion for toys, pop culture, and collectible products.

 

Graphic Design Requirements:

* Prior experience in a design agency or design studio would be an advantage.
* Experience in executing branding strategies and adhering to brand guidelines.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
* Well-rounded skills in logo design, layouts, and typography.
* Deep knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, with demonstrated expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
* Ability to effectively communicate ideas and translate concepts into reality through strong technical proficiency and professionalism.
