Job Title: Senior Software Engineer, Markerless Motion Capture & Gait Analytics

Location: Remote (US-based required)

About Motion Med

  • Motion Med Labs is a healthcare technology company focused on turning real-world movement into meaningful clinical data. We build software and systems that help clinicians objectively measure gait, cognition, and motor performance to guide care and research.
  • We’re looking for a senior software engineer to lead development of markerless motion capture and gait analytics tools used in real clinical environments. This role sits at the intersection of computer vision, biomechanics, and healthcare, helping transform raw depth/camera data into metrics that clinicians can trust.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize markerless motion capture and pose estimation pipelines (e.g., multi-camera depth/RGB, 3D skeleton tracking, gait metrics).
  • Build robust, production-quality services and SDKs that integrate with existing clinical and research workflows.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, product, and data science teams to define requirements, validate metrics, and improve algorithms based on real-world data.
  • Own performance, reliability, and code quality for motion capture components in a cloud-connected, privacy- and security-sensitive environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer working in computer vision, 3D perception, or related fields.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++, including experience writing performant, production-ready code.
  • Hands-on experience with pose estimation, multi-view geometry, depth cameras, or markerless motion capture systems.
  • Familiarity with Kinect-derived depth camera platforms (e.g., Orbbec Femto Mega or similar).
  • Comfort working remotely with a distributed team and collaborating with non-technical stakeholders (e.g., clinicians, researchers).
  • Nice to have: background in healthcare, medical devices, or regulated environments.
