Job Title: Technical Project Manager – Hyperscaler / Optical Data Centre Projects

Location: Remote – APAC (preferred: Japan, Singapore, Malaysia)

Contract Type: 6 months (with strong potential to convert to permanent)

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to join our team on major customer account. This is a remote-based role with flexibility on location across the APAC region, though candidates based in Japan, Singapore, or Malaysia are preferred. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working for, or directly with, a Hyperscaler and must have a strong track record in managing optical products within Data Centres, including large-scale installs and upgrades.

This role requires a candidate who is fully competent in project delivery, P&L management, and customer-facing communication, capable of engaging in cogent discussions with high-level stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Planning:

• Deliver multiple projects to agreed Time, Cost, and Quality standards, aligned with corporate strategy.
• Develop and execute Project Management Plans and phase plans; proactively identify and implement corrective actions.
• Allocate resources, monitor progress, and ensure projects stay on track with clear reporting of metrics such as effort to date, cost to complete, and estimated completion.

Customer Engagement:

• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned projects, managing customer relationships and expectations.
• Obtain formal customer acceptance of completed deliverables and drive a collaborative approach to problem-solving and innovation.

Financial & Resource Management:

• Maintain operational P&L, track revenue and costs, and ensure projects are delivered within budget.
• Generate resource forecasts and maximize internal resource utilization.
• Manage procurement processes and contract administration in alignment with project requirements.

Risk & Compliance:

• Identify and manage technical risks, implementing corrective action plans and escalating when necessary.
• Ensure adherence to company Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) policies.

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing large-scale optical products/projects for a Hyperscaler.
• Recognized Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
• Strong conversational English.
• Capable of delivering project P&L and driving effective project financial outcomes.
• Experience in resource management, project reporting, and risk management.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
