SDET - Java; Software Engineer in Test; Automated QA

Job Title: SDET (Java/Automation)

Location: Remote, must be based in Latin America and work on EST/CST

About the Role

We're seeking a collaborative, automation-first SDET (Java) to embed within agile Scrum teams.. You’ll join a lean, high-impact QA Center of Excellence focused on building a fully automated, risk-based testing strategy. This is not a “heads-down testing” role—you’ll contribute to building frameworks, mentoring team members, and advancing the maturity of our Automated QA practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, and Postman
• Create and execute service layer and UI tests in fast-paced, CI/CD environments
• Own testing for app and service layers across enterprise systems
• Coach team members and share best practices across QA pods
• Collaborate with developers and product teams in 2-week sprint cycles
• Contribute to synthetic data generation, QA metrics, and CI/CD integration efforts

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on SDET experience using Java in Agile environments
• Expertise in Selenium, Cucumber, Postman, and GitHub
• Deep understanding of bottom-up, risk-based, and feature-layered testing
• Experience testing across data, service, and application layers
• Familiarity with ADO (Azure DevOps) for test case management
• Strong communicator and team player with a collaborative mindset

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Cypress, SQL, CI pipelines, or synthetic data generation
• Interest in contributing to QA roadmap (e.g., regression beds, metrics, data as a service)
• QA certification (ISTQB or equivalent) for standardized communication across global teams
