Introduction:
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Support Engineer with a clear
pathway to transition into a Full-Stack Developer role within 3-6 months. This position is ideal for
a developer who thrives in complex environments and is looking for an opportunity to both hone
their troubleshooting skills and expand their full-stack development capabilities.
Background:
In our ongoing commitment to enhance the functionality and user experience of our application,
we are establishing a dedicated role designed to effectively manage and resolve support
requests. This position is strategically created not only to address immediate support needs but
also to prepare the selected candidate to transition into a full-stack development role,
contributing more broadly to the project's success.
Role Progression:
● Initial 4-6 Months: As a Support Engineer, your primary focus will be on managing and
resolving incoming support requests. This phase is critical for maintaining the
application's stability and user satisfaction.
● Post-Transition: Upon successful resolution of the initial backlog and a reduction in the
frequency of new issues, you will transition to a Full-Stack Developer role. In this
capacity, you will tackle more complex development tasks and projects, contributing to
the application’s growth and enhancement.
Responsibilities:
● Support Phase:
Receive, triage, and respond to defect reports and enhancement requests via
Jira.
Collaborate with internal teams and clients to clarify and prioritize issues.
Investigate root causes and propose solutions with support from cross-functional
teams.
Manage communication with clients regarding request statuses and resolutions.
Participate in daily standups with the internal development team and client
meetings as required.
● Development Phase:
Transition to handling more extensive development tasks, working closely with
the development team.
Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including
planning, coding, testing, and deployment.
Update and maintain technical documentation.
Required Skills:
● Proficiency in Python, Django, and Vue.js.
● Strong understanding of database systems, particularly MySQL.
● Familiarity with AWS services, especially EC2 and ECS.
● Experience working with docker
● Experience with Elastic Search and efficient data retrieval techniques.
● Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex
applications.
Communication Skills:
● Strong command of spoken and written English.
● Ability to clearly present ideas and technical knowledge to various stakeholders.
Work Experience:
● Minimum 3 years as a back-end developer using Python.
● Minimum 2 years of experience as a front-end developer with Vue.js or a similar
framework.
Additional Information:
● The candidate is expected to have significant overlap with the East Coast time zone
● Success in this role is defined by timely customer responses and swift issue resolution.
● Participation in a daily standup with the development team is required, with additional
meetings as needed to ensure clarity and alignment on support issues.
