The client is a large payments company with a history of acquisitions and is heavily focused on tech modernization to streamline operations and stay competitive.
The team is exploring options to staff a team at a large payments company focused on solution architecture for corporate applications/ networking/ infra in the context of a separation.
Their architecture has evolved, creating numerous complex integrations to keep things functioning, resulting in high-cost changes
Timing:
The technical team is kicking off in a week, ideally, they would like someone onboard then or very soon after
Tools/systems:
Core Engineering side of things; they are working with the CTO organization – building the actual systems that move money around
More focus on solution, design, building stuff
Sr. Engineer who has built and can think broadly
Would have experience across a wide variety of technologies; can integrate a lot of technologies
Broad but technically deep
This is the Core Engineering piece; as technical as possible, really need the breadth to talk to the CTO, but can also talk to a developer
Solution architect from a big bank or big credit card or big payment company (Stripe, Visa, Wells Fargo, Amex, etc.)
Corporate app experience
Sr. Engineer / Staff Engineer could also potentially work
Accenture, E&Y, and Deloitte consultants might work – if they have payment experience and programming skills
