We are looking for a small team of developers to setup a software tool to process large files with tabular biological data from mass spectrometry measurement of human samples. Using the software, the tabular measurement data will be converted to tabular data that are human readable with summarized information about the content of the measurements.
Overall, there will be many consecutive processing steps needed to create the output tables. Initially, we will focus on R&D work to implement and test new algorithms to process and interpret the data. We have test datasets for which we roughly know how the output tables should look like. These datasets will be used to measure performance and functionality of the software in the R&D state. Once we identified which algorithms and strategies work well for each processing step, we will transition the prototype to a high-performance maintainable software.
Important in this stage will be implementing tests throughout the code, making the code memory and processing time optimized to be able to process datasets of several TB in size and to make the code maintainable and modular as much as possible. The langue we want to use is exclusively Python.
