Ellen Yang, Recruiter Job Title: Backend Developer for AI Virtual Assistant MVP
About the Role: We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to rebuild an MVP from the ground up for an AI-based virtual secretary. This project will focus on integrating several APIs, with a strong emphasis on backend development using Node.js. You will be responsible for developing a scalable, AI-driven assistant that manages tasks such as scheduling, note-taking, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build the AI-based virtual secretary MVP with a strong focus on backend architecture.
- Integrate multiple APIs, including Google Cloud and calendar APIs (Google Calendar, Outlook) to automate scheduling tasks.
- Collaborate with third-party AI APIs for natural language processing and task automation.
- Ensure scalable, modular design to allow for future enhancements and increased traffic.
- Provide regular updates on progress, maintaining open communication with stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Strong proficiency in Node.js for backend development.
- Experience integrating APIs, especially OpenAI GPT API, particularly in using models and function calling capabilities.
- Experience with API integrations, including Plivo for SMS reminders and virtual phone number setups to redirect client calls securely.
- Proficiency in Google Speech-to-Text and GPT-4 with Text-to-Speech (TTS) for real-time transcription and voice response generation.
- Experience building MVPs for startups or small businesses.
- Familiarity with conversational AI or virtual assistant technologies is a plus.
- Python proficiency is a plus, especially for integrating AI models and TTS efficiently, though not mandatory for the core functionalities.
Conclusion:
The core focus of this MVP is on integrating existing APIs and ensuring smooth interaction between components such as calendar management and speech recognition. Technologies like TTS, STT, and NLP will be leveraged through pre-existing APIs, reducing the need for custom coding. The main challenge lies in combining these technologies effectively to deliver key features such as scheduling and responding to user queries. This MVP will be a solid foundation for scalability with minimal development effort.
