I now spend 40+ hours per week designing distributed applications (Dapps) and writing blockchain-based application code, mostly in Ethereum, but not limited to that platform. My work has included the authoring of research papers, DApps, and front-end projects created with technologies like React and built on platforms like Ethereum. I have recently begun speaking on blockchain technology and specialize in helping traditional clients and architectures integrate blockchain technologies into their business and tech stack.

I've been building front and back end Ethereum dapp software for almost a year now, but been a hobbyist for several more.  I can help you get started with this platform, review your code, write/review smart contracts in Solidity, or help with front-end javascript and web3. I build private networks and work with some really interesting people who are more interested in cybersecurity than the value of tokens, so my Ethereum security skillset is growing.  

My teams develop Hyperledger Fabric applications for production use by the US Army and other entities. We deploy applications across organizational boundaries and across different cloud platforms to build consortia around Fabric and other related technologies.

Javascript is an important part of my full stack development work, whether we're talking about full stack web development, or full-stack ethereum development. I use Node extensively, and I prefer React for front end work. For ethereum DApps, I like to use web3js. 

I fell in love with react quickly and now it is my go-to for any and all web application front ends. I love how nicely it pairs with Redux and just about any blockchain framework to bring applications to life quickly and produce feature-rich client-side applications 

Amazon AWS is an amazing platform for cloud architectures. I built ArchPatent's suite of services and products on AWS EC2, RDS, and S3, and Kailos Genetics products are powered entirely by amazon EC2 nodes and hosted services as well, including RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, and more.

I am a Rails expert! If it can be done in Rails I have probably done it, from full stack web development to coding data pipelines for genetic analysis. I especially enjoy working in microservices and service-oriented architectures.  All of the web applications and most of the backend services and utilities used at ArchPatent and Kailos Genetics are ruby/rails-based, and often tightly coupled with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

With Kailos Genetics, I wrote software to process Next-Generation sequencing data for more than 4 years. Besides running the tools of the trade such as Casava and GATK, I've written apps for Illumina's basespace and data processing pipelines for analyzing and interpreting genetic sequencing results.

I've been using and programming in Linux as long as I can remember.  As a home user I've managed Linux systems for 25 years. Professionally, I led the charge to use Redhat Linux within various Army networks for data science and simulation, and even built massive private blockchain networks. Archpatent, Kailos Genetics, and almost every other project I've worked on have been based upon various linux flavors and cloud-hosted, usually on Amazon AWS, and occasionally on Azure, although bare metal isn't out of my wheelhouse either.

I developed and managed a pretty complex data ingest and predictive analytics system based built upon Java and the Spring framework with ArchPatent for 4+ years (most of the code ended up ported into other platforms).  I still manage a lot of java code as a part of several bioinformatics projects.
